Success at the highest levels of professional sport is becoming increasingly complex. Top sailing prospects needs to grow on the basis of high-level centers where high performance athletes can work in groups with the same goal, winning an Olympic medal.
Dinghy Academy was created keeping in mind this current trend. We want to create a training team characterized by a high-quality program that includes sports skills and techniques, mental coaching as well as boat tuning. In order to achieve that we are working with some of the world’s best experts in various fields. These conditions are out of the reach of many countries, at least in a sport like Olympic sailing.
Dinghy Academy aims precisely at organizing and coordinating a group of high-level athletes, young prospects and professional masters putting at their disposal some of the best specialists in high level Olympic sailing.
Why Valencia
Following our 4-year experience in Valencia during the 32nd America’s Cup, we found an ideal place where to practice the sport of sailing at the highest level. Valencia offers very good weather and wind conditions. Many athletes have been training here with us, such as Slovenia’s two-time Olympic medalist Vasilij Zbogar, Mathias Miller from Germany, Giorgio Poggi from Italy, Ed Wright from the UK and many others.
Commenting on what Valencia has to offer Vasilij Zbogar is convinced it is “one of the best places in the world to train, we have always had good wind and weather.”
The city is well connected, the Yacht Club has well-structured and top-notch infrastructure. In summary, it is the ideal place to get the best out of an athlete. To achieve maximum results an athlete needs to be prepared at the highest level possible, in sports, technical and mental skills.
